Shahi paneer is very popular recipe in paneer recipes. Many non veg people also like shahi paneer, due to its thick gravy nature. Like me, I love this recipe with butter naan in combination. Just awesome. Last Tuesday I tried this beautiful dish to have at dinner with plain parathas.

Lets see how I add more vegitables to it and had a shahi dinner with my family….

250 gms. paneer (I love Mother’s Paneer or you can also go for any packet paneer)
1 onion chopped in big slices
1 capsicum sliced in strips
1 carrot sliced in strips
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
2 green chilis finely chopped
1/2 cup tomato puree
3 cardamom
1 cinamon stick
1 bay leaf
1/4 cup cashew paste
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp jeera powder
1/2 tsp red chili powder
1/2 cup card
1/2 tsp garam masala powder
salt to taste
1/2 cup milk
sugar to taste

How to make Shahi Paneer Recipe

This dish is rich & thick gravy dish. Lots of rich ingredients will be added one by one.
First of all heat ghee in a pan.
I have used ghee for the whole preparation, you can use oil also.
Fry the paneer cubes carefully and keep them aside. We need to shallow fry them.
Now add all the chopped vegitables. Add salt, turmeric powder.
Fry them in low flame and keep them aside.

Now in the pan add little more ghee and heat ghee properly.
Add cinamon & cardamom sticks. Add bayleaf as well.
Fry for next 1.5 min.
Now add chopped onions & chilis.
Now fry the onions till they turn brown.

Now add ginger garlic paste, chili powder & jeera powder.
mix them well. Add fried vegitables also.
Now add tomato puree & next card.
Mix them all together. Add little water to mix them well.
Now you can add paneer cube as well.
But don’t stir too much, otherwise paneer cubes may break.

Now in the milk add the cashew powder and mix them.
Mix sugar to this milk mixture.
Finally add this mixture to pan.
Add garam masala & salt to taste.
Cover the lid and cook for next 4-5 min.
If required add little water as well.

After 5 min Paneer cubes will look like floating in a thick gravy.
Have fun with roti or naan with this tasty sahi paneer dish.
