Ingredients for Bengali Payesh Recipe
- 100 gm Gobindobhog rice (if not available, you can use Jeera Rice also)
- 1 lt cow milk
- Sugar around 150 gm or as per taste
- 1 Bay Leaf
- 2 Cardamoms (crushed)
- ½ cup Kaju, kismis, almonds (half broken)
- ½ tsp ghee
Preparation Time: 30 min
How to Make Bengali Rice Kheer
First of all take the milk in a heavy bottom vessel and bring it to boil.
When the milk starts boiling, add the bay leaf to it.
Reduce the flame and simmer until the milk is reduced to 2/3rd.
Wash the rice grains properly and add them to the boiling milk.
Make sure to stir every 3 – 4 minutes, so that it does not stick to the vessel.
When the rice is half done add the sugar and keep on stirring on continuous basis.
You can also add jaggery if you want to prepare gurer payesh recipe Bengali style.
Finally add the kaju, kismis, almonds & crushed cardamom pods.
Stir well and check whether it’s fully done.
You can spread ½ tsp ghee to enhance the flavor. Your payesh is ready to serve.
