Chana dal recipe in Bengali style

Coconut or Narkel diye Booter Dal or chana dal recipe in Bengali style is a very common Bengali preparation which we prepare at home every now & then. It is a very easy to prepare recipe which taste really great. In fact this one of the popular authentic Bengali recipe. We mostly had this dal with luchi (puri) or roti. How to make Chana dal recipe in Bengali style

Chana dal recipe in Bengali style
1 cup Boot er Dal(Chana Dal)
1 cup shredded coconut
1 bay leaf
1 Red chilli
1/2 tsp Panch Phoron(Bengali mixure of 5 spices)
Little Mustard Oil
2 green chillis
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste
Sugar to taste

Recipe preparation:
Wash the chana dals properly.
Take them in a pressure cooker with little salt & cook until they are done.
In a pan take little mustard oil.
Add red chilli, bay leaf & panch phoron.
Stir them for 1-2 min & let the aroma comes out of them.
Now add the shredded coconut & Green chillis.
Stir them with little salt & turmeric powder for 2-3 min.
Add the boiled dal & mix them well.
If required add some water, it will be a little thick preparation.
Add little sugar if you want.
Check for salt & cook covered for feww minutes.
It tastes great with Puri, Chapati or Pulka.
