Morula maach is a type of small fish which is very much available in Bengal. Specially these fishes are found in rivers of Bengal. It looks a bit similar to Puti fish. It is a very tasty variety of small fish.
Generally their sizes also varies from very small to a similar size of puti fish. Its very tough to cut them and clean them as they are very small in size, Just imagine in 250gm of quantity you can find around 100+ fishes.
My mom can prepare many types of recipes with this fishes. Among them my favourite is Tartara, specially with the smallest ones ( without much frying the fishes). I will share that one soon.
Today I will share another tasty recipe I learnt from my MOM, its Morula fish with brinjal. My Baba loves it very much.
The preparation is very much same of the earlier shared Tangra Fish recipe with brinjal. You can just go through that recipe once. I will just mention the differences here to complete the recipe.
150 gm medium sized Morula fish
1 big size onion finely chopped
2 long brinjals chopped in specific shape
Chopped Coriander leaves
2 green chilis slit
1/2 tsp red chilli powder
1/2 tsp Jeera powder
1/2 tsp Dhania powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
Salt to taste
Morula maach is very soft in nature. So you need to be very careful while washing the fishes.
Marinate the fish pieces with salt & turmeric powder.
Heat oil in a frying pan.
The oil should be hot properly, otherwise fishes might get stuck with the pan surface.
Fry the fishes gently & keep them aside.
Now rest of the recipe is similar to Tangra maacher reipce.
Just try and feel the oil taste of Morula maach.
